“I’ve seen the commercials for SunRiver and they make living there amazing. Be honest, Is SunRiver really as good as the commercials make it look?”
If you are visiting the SunRiver website, you may be wondering the same thing.
A few years ago, a major vacation cruise line ran an advertisement that read “A cruise as good as the commercials.” We could say the same thing about SunRiver.
SunRiver is actually better than our commercials.
That’s a bold statement — let me tell you why it’s true.
You may have seen one of the SunRiver commercials in a movie theater with surround sound and brilliant colors, or you may have seen one of our billboards. You may have come across an advertisement in a retirement magazine, or received a flyer in the mail.
You probably saw a couple golfing, going for a walk through a serene neighborhood, reclining by the pool, relaxing at Hank’s Riverwalk Grill for a meal, or lounging in their pleasantly sunlit home with friends leisurely enjoying a glass of wine.
All of that is part of living at SunRiver.
But it’s only part of living here. What we can’t convey in the commercials is what it feels like to have the sun caress your skin on the golf course, or the smell of the clean desert breezes. The advertisements can’t let you hear the comfortable hum of life at SunRiver as you walk or bicycle along the uncrowded streets, or the exchange of pleasantries with your neighbors.
SunRiver resident, “Link” Lindquist, aptly put it this way, “It’s beautiful. Life here is absolutely fantastic. In other places, when you pass bicyclists and pedestrians, they put their heads down and don’t even look at you. Here they wave and say, hi.”
In the commercials you may have seen the woodworking shop, or the pottery studio. What you can’t see is they are within walking distance of many of the homes in SunRiver, or that if you would rather not walk, you can ride your own golf cart to the Community Center. You also aren’t able see the dedicated golf cart parking and uncrowded streets you will be riding on.
You probably noticed the SunRiver street views in many of the advertisements and commercials. You might have assumed the street scenes were staged and the street blocked off so it would appear quiet and uncrowded.
If you have visited SunRiver, you know most streets look like that most of the time.
If you haven’t been here yet, you should visit.
You will be surprised how quiet it is here, and how smoothly resort-style living all works together.
Resort-style living here at SunRiver might take some getting used to.
There are a few times when you might deal with a deadline and some congestion. For instance, finding a place to park at the Veteran’s Honor Park during the Veteran’s Day or Memorial Day services. Or finding just the right spot at one of the Rok Dox concerts. Having so many of our residents ride their golf carts eases the congestion even at these popular events.
The rest of the time, life is more relaxed. Like you’ve seen in the commercials. There is time to play, time to spend with friends over a drink or a meal, time to watch sunset colors spread across the desert.
SunRiver is strategically laid out so you can travel from one side of the community to the other in two miles or less, a few minutes ride in a golf cart on wide, well-maintained streets.
There is so much to do right here in SunRiver, you can have an active social life and never take your car out of the garage.
When you want to venture out into St. George or beyond, the freeway entrance is conveniently located at the east edge of the community. Close enough for easy access, and far enough away to avoid congestion.
St. George is filled with activities, places to go, and sights to see. There are a wide variety of restaurants, plays, museums, historical sites, and seasonal fairs.
Las Vegas is a hop on the freeway, and less than two hours away. That’s less time than many of our residents used to spend on their daily commute getting to work.
Zion National Park is less than an hour away. It is the most visited national park and well worth the drive.
The Shakespeare Theater in Cedar City is less than an hour away from SunRiver with uncrowded freeway all the way.
Snow Canyon and its picturesque hiking, biking and horseback riding is twenty minutes from home when you make SunRiver your basecamp for your southern Utah adventures.
If you are still wondering if living in SunRiver St. George is as good as it looks in the commercials, the best way to find out is to try it. Reserve your stay for three days and two nights at our Discovery Villas for only $99, and try SunRiver firsthand.
Don’t be surprised when you love it here.
